5 Top Places To Eat Sushi In Dubai

If we could rate our favourite Japanese things, sushi would rule the list. And judging from our social feeds so far, 2017 has been pretty focused on experimenting with this delicate delight.

Sushi has been reshaped, renamed and mixed with a variety of other food items. Cake, pies, burgers, burritos — you name it and they have it. But no food collaboration comes close to the authentic taste of rice, seaweed and fish wrapped together in bite-size deliciousness.

Like all famous cuisines, Dubai has its fair share of sushi places. From malls to fancy restaurants, we’ve chopsticked our way to list the 5 best places to grab a sushi bite right here in Dubai.

1. Zuma Dubai

Location: DIFC, Dubai

The Izakaya inspired Japanese restaurant, created by Rainer Becker, is a success story from London to Dubai.

At Zuma, the food is served to share. The heavenly Japanese cuisine keeps the conversation going in an informal yet sophisticated style of eating and drinking, with a contemporary twist. A little heavier on the pocket but definitely worth the money.

According to one reviewer at Four Square "Three things are a must at Zuma: the Tuna Sashimi (so fresh!), the Cod (comes wrapped in some leaf) and finally the Sirloin Steak with sesame seeds."

The sushi here is, without any doubts, the best sushi in Dubai.

2. Okku

Location: The H Hotel Dubai.

This multi-award winning home-grown contemporary Japanese restaurant has received critical acclaim and is the winner of over 70 Hospitality Awards including Best Japanese Restaurant in 2016.

The place offers contemporary Japanese cuisine with an international edge in a chic, subtly lit style restaurant-bar. According to reviewers, "Zuma's greatest nemesis will surely satisfy your taste buds. Order their crispy duck salad, spicy tempura prawns, miso black cod, chicken teriyaki, spicy edamame & their delicious sushi! Okku is love!"

3. Miyako

Location: Grand Hyatt Regency Dubai

If you want to eat sushi in Japan, head over to Miyako. Located in the Hyatt Regency hotel, the best thing about this place is that you get to see the food being made.

Miyako is divided into three different and authentic dining experiences - a live Teppanyaki room, main dining area with a sushi bar and an intimate Tatami room. A cosy bar offers a wide selection of Sake and Shochu.

The menu takes diners on a culinary journey through delicious Japanese creations. A must-try for sushi addicts!

4. Miyabi Sushi & Bento

Location: DXB Building, Behind UAE Exchange, Dubai

If you're looking for some pure sushi fun at slightly affordable rates then Miyako is your best shot. People come here to taste their huge sushi boat. One reviewer on Four Square recommends their volcano shrimps, jumping cali roll, muni roll, chili tempura roll, spicy chicken and tempura ice-cream.

It's good food and good service, what more can we ask for?

5. Nobu

Location: Atlantis, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai

World-renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa continues to redefine Japanese cuisine in a contemporary space that mixes traditional and modern Japanese elements.

At Atlantis, Nobu infuses his cutting edge style with Arabian influences to create a distinctly urban experience. Incorporating Nobu’s signature dishes as well as new surprises, the menu is complemented by a sushi bar and sake lounge.
