Have you ever had a strong craving for sweets that you literally drool at the thought of red velvet cupcakes or chocolate brownies? I have.

I was a bit stressed last week and you know what they say about stressed, it's desserts spelled backwards; that was probably the reason why I was having these sweet and sugary thoughts.

The craving was too strong to be ignored, so I decided to call up my friend to join me in for a coffee and cupcakes.

As I was enquiring about the cafe's best sellers from the counter staff I saw a latest promotion 'It's Tea Time', apparently the bakery has an ongoing offer, which is good for 2 people. For AED49 you get to share a selection of desserts and a choice of 2 coffee and/or tea.

I easily made up my mind and asked my friend to meet me at the bakery. After placing our order we were ushered to our table. While waiting for our order to arrive, I noticed how cosy the place was.

Beside our table was a group of friends catching up and enjoying their own choice of cupcakes and coffees, on our left was a small family indulging their kid's sweet tooth and in front of us were lovers exchanging delicious cupcakes and sweet nothings.

I realised that everyone was basically eating whatever they wanted and living a sweet moment.

When our order arrived I couldn't help but admire the presentation, the display of the desserts on a two-tiered cake plate arranged to perfection and Instagram-worthy. The selection of desserts include 1 red velvet whoopie pie, 2 mini cupcakes, 4 mini chocolate brownies, 1 chocolate cookie and a slice of lemon loaf, with it were our order of iced coffee and cafe latte.

I started eating my slice of the whoopie pie, the moment it touched my lips I had to close my eyes to savour the heavenly taste, it wasn't too sweet which is to my liking.

Then I proceeded to eat my share of the desserts, I demolished it in less than 10 minutes while sipping my iced coffee in between bites, the coffee that I ordered really went well with the taste of the desserts and highlighted the tastes of the sweet, moist confection.

We really enjoyed ourselves, sometimes you just really have to live in the moment and just eat what you want because after all the best things in life are sweet, and it's good to pamper yourself and your loved ones because we all deserve a treat every once in a while.

So if you want to enjoy a sweet moment with your family, whisper sweet nothings with your significant other or simply catch up with friends, go ahead and indulge yourself at Hummingbird Bakery with their It's Tea Time promotion every day from 3pm to 6pm.
