The World's Most Expensive Burger Isn't Worth The Bank-Breaking Amount

It costs the same as 1,500 Big Macs!

The world’s most prestigious burger comes at a whopping cost of £1875 (AED 8,772) and ironically, it doesn’t taste as great as it should.

The infamous burger is the creation of Dutch chef Diego Bui who is unofficially known as the Hamburger King in Netherlands. This monster-looking creation includes some of the rarest ingredients including lobsters, foie gras, gold and of course, truffles.

Diego’s insane burger that costs around the same as 1,500 McDonald’s hamburgers has earned itself a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records as The World’s Priciest Burger.

Elated with joy, Chef Diego wrote on his Instagram, "What an amazing journey this burger has brought me! This is the most expensive hamburger in the world! With wagyu, lobster, pata negra , foie gras, caviar, truffle and as you can see its top is coated in gold leaf."

But it isn't the best

Ironically, the chef himself doesn’t think it’s the best hamburger he has ever eaten. For him, the crown goes to a humble burger he ate at a Byron restaurant in the UK which cost him just £14.

The ingredients breakdown

The beef patty in this bank-breaking burger is a blend containing the most expensive steak in the world - a Japanese dry-aged Wagyu, while the other is a luxurious Black Angus beef steak.

The lobster is infused with Hermit Dutch Coastal gin, while other lavish toppings include artisan Remeker cheese, Japanese fruit tomatoes and pricey Iberian ham.

The burger sauce is also a heavenly blend of lobster and a host of other top-quality ingredients including Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, Madagascan vanilla, saffron, and Japanese soy.

And to top it all off, the brioche burger bun (worth €120 on its own) is covered in 24 carat gold leaf.

The chef himself won't buy it

Being perfectly candid, Chef Diego told Vice ''It's insane to consider the amount of money you can eat in only 10 minutes. When I think about it like that, I'd rather have those 1,124 McDonald's hamburgers. They'd last me a lot longer.''
