In general, models have little to do with food unless it’s some crazy diet but Anna Tokarska is changing the whole perception – in the creepiest way possible.

Anna, a Polish model by profession but an artist at heart, has created a series of surreal looking food structures, all made with nothing but everyday fruits and vegetables.

Her surreal structures will remind you of mournful mime faces.

Anna was a model for more than a decade but has been a professional photographer for three years. This year, she graduated from The Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and presented these striking portraits as her final project.

Apples for cheeks, grapes for hair and kiwis for a nose...

Anna’s unusual talent and eerie looking portraits, which she has called, Arcimboldiana, have gone viral with more than 30,000 re-shares on several websites.

In Anna’s own words, “The inspiration behind the work, are the paintings of XVI Italian mannerist Giuseppe Arcimboldo, who has been known for his incredible allegorical-still life-portraits.”

The whole set of eight photographs took about a month to complete.

Each was built vertically with great care, measuring from 50-80cm, then photographed.

The beauty with an unusual talent explained how her food art looked SO realistic.

She said, "I always look for something that in the final effect would give a "realistic" look, so an eye is composed of many elements, the "white part" for which I could use a parsley, garlic or other vegetable or fruit that is white and for the pupils, maybe a grape or blackberry."
